TFM Country Store is a family run company that consists of a small team of staff. However, they have developed their own successful range of all natural and ethical dog foods, courtesy of our Signature Range. This proved to be a smart move and their success hasn’t gone unnoticed, so we caught up with Nikki to ask her why she decided to secure her own brand of dog foods.
What made you decide that you’d like to start your own brand of Dog Foods?
“We wanted to provide our customers and their dogs with quality, all natural products that’s manufactured right here in the UK. The benefits to the dog is paramount, and we felt that the recipes you provide will suit our company ethos and brand. We believed that securing our own brand of dog foods would strengthen our position with our customers, it would provide us with an opportunity to strike genuine relationships in order to improve customer retention and loyalty.”

What attracted you to the Signature Range?
“Your Sales Representative Terry Barber was a great help in explaining the quality and benefits of the selection of recipes you provide. I also appreciated the ethics you hold as a company, the no animal testing policy and the PETA accreditation you’ve been awarded.”
How did you find the process of acquiring your own brand?

“As I said earlier, Terry was great in assisting us through the process every step of the way. Providing us with the correct tuition, which made selling the products so so simple!”
The process of designing your own label:
“We were then given a selection of TFM branded concept label designs, we chose our favourite and the rest is history as they say.”
Choosing the right recipes to suit your proposed brand:
“Choosing GRAIN FREE recipes was a priority for us, we decided to focus on two recipes, one chicken based and one fish based. It has proved to be a resounding success for us.”
Ordering your first shipment:
“Our first order was a breeze! A quick and efficient process, and the personal service is a bonus.”
Selling the products to your customers:
“We found that selling our own range of foods is very easy. As you have the freedom of choosing the right recipes to suit your target market, as well as pricing the product to our own preferences. All we had to do was highlight the nutritional benefits of our recipes to our customers.”
What are the results? Have you experienced increased customer retention & loyalty?
Our customers are now very loyal, our TFM brand is only available through us. We have developed great customer relationships and they keep coming back for more! They even recommend our brand to their friends and family. We have had nothing but positive feedback from our customers about our foods, and our own brand range has become the #1 selling dog food, beating all the other mainstream dog foods!”
What difference has having your own brand made to your business?
“We definitely have higher profit margins when selling our own brand of dog foods, this has made a big difference to our business. The freedom of setting our own product Recommended Retail Prices (RRP’s) is a godsend! This has certainly played a big part in our success in selling our own brand.
